For Foreign Workers of Foreign-affiliated Firms
Summary
- The Osaka Business and lnvestment Center (O-BIC), a one-stop support center run by the city, the Osaka prefectural Government and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and lndustry, Provides up-to-date information concerning available rental accommodation gathered by the Osaka Municipal Housing Corporation.
- Some of the conditions of the rental contracts and required documents have been eased.
1) Regular applicants need a Japanese guarantor ("hosho-nin", a person Who will assume responsibility if the applicant is not able to assume liability for reparation) to enter into a contract with a housing corp. However, foreign workers of foreign-affiliated films can rent accommodations by making a "Tripartite contract" between the applicant, the applicant's company and the housing corp. or by making a "Corporate contract" between the company and the housing corp.
2) Some of the documents necessary to rent housing have been changed for the convenience of foreign workers. For example, the certificate of residence tax can be substituted by an income certificate from the applicant's previous country of residence or by a certificate of employment from the applicant's current employer. This is to verify the applicant's income.

- Foreign workers of foreign affiliated firms that establish a new base (head or branch) in Osaka City
- Foreign workers who come to Japan to work at foreign affiliated films that have
already located their business establishment in Osaka City
